about me - Freya Sema

I was born in 1978 and grew up in Stafford. I moved away for a number of years but returned in 2002. My husband and I first became parents in January 2007 and we now have two children.

I am a registered midwife and until 2009 I worked in a Birmingham Hospital on a very busy delivery suite and ante/postnatal ward. I now work locally at Stafford Hospital. I am regulated by the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) and am a member of the RCM (Royal College of Midwives).

I am passionate about good quality antenatal education and regularly witness how it positively affects birth outcome. (see testimonials on the homepage). It is great preparation for becoming a mum, for fatherhood or even for when things don't go according to plan.

In January 2012 I celebrated two years of 'expecting' with over 100 parents & 50 babies & bumps (nearly half of the 107 babies so far!)

As well as working as a midwife and being a mum, I love travelling and baking (you may even get to sample my cookies at a class!)
